October 2004 Our lawyer Marina Yarovaya has become a finalist of the “Open World” program held by the U.S. Congress and aimed at promotion of better understanding between Russia and the USA by means of creating and supporting new ways of communication between American and Russian lawyers. Within the program framework, Ms.Yarovaya had a great opportunity to visit the USA and to get acquainted with the work-style of her colleagues in Washington, D.C., and the State of Maryland. Program activities included acquaintance with the U.S. judicial system, review of duties and relations between the three branches of power of the American Government and government authorities at different levels (federal, local and state level). Program participants took part in the conference on the subject “Supremacy of Law”, held by the U.S. Judicial Department, they also visited the Supreme Court, the Congressional Library, and participated in the hearings of certain criminal and civil cases in the County court and the Circuit court of Appeal of the State of Maryland. Afterwards, all group members were given documents certifying their participation in the program “Open World”. |

August 3, 2004 – the Federal court of the Northwest Federal District dismissed a cassation appeal filed against the court decision of trial jurisdiction on the case of challenge against the state registration of title of the Leningrad Region to the real estate, thereby, affirming the legality and relevance of the Leningrad Region title to the disputed real estate. Our lawyer Mikhail Boitsov represented interests of the Leningrad Region during the litigation. At the moment, the Arbitration court of S-Petersburg and the Leningrad Region is handling the case on eviction of ZAO “Ekurus” from the illegally occupied premises. |

Boitsov. Representing the Leningrad Region, our law firm carries out the restitution of real estate, illegally taken from the Leningrad Region in favor of the closed joint-stock company “Ekurus”. On October 23, 2003 by motion of the Leningrad Region representative, Mikhail A. Boitsov, with regard to the case on impeachment of registration of the Leningrad Region right to certain property assets, the Court of Arbitration appointed the constructional-technical expertise of the stated property assets.Execution of the expertise is carried out by the State Administration “North-West Regional Center of Legal Expertise” of the Russian Federation Ministry of Justice. |
